Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Goatwhore, Between the Buried and Me, Veil of Maya AND The Faceless? On a tour together? Sweet Lucifer, give me tickets to this right now. Normally, I don't look at Summer Slaughter because their lineup generally consists of shitty -core bands. But this is possibly one of the best lineups for any tour in recent memory (not better than Mayhem 2012 if Asking Alexandria weren't on that), which can all but mean that this will be a fucking murder scene. And now, a look at the co-headliners - Cannibal Corpse and Between the Buried and Me.
Cannibal Corpse is a straight-up death metal icon. They were one of the very first death metal bands, though their lyrics and song titles are a bit cheesy. However, one cannot count CC out when talking about some of the most brutal music ever created. Plus, Jim Carrey loves them. (That might mean something if Jim Carrey would put out a decent movie these days.) Cannibal corpse is sure to get the blood flowing (and probably flying) in any mosh pit.
Between the Buried and Me are up-and-comers in the progressive metal scene, with their latest release,
Parallax: The Hypersleep Dialogues, being a 3-song, 25-minute jazz-metal-awesome odyssey. Their sound is sure to please anyone with an ear for artistry, and should provide a wonderful counter to the sheer brutality of Summer Slaughter co-headliners Cannibal Corpse.
